Who this policy covers

Riceapple is developed by Abdul Moiz Shahzad. This policy covers riceapple.app and the current Riceapple macOS preview and rice-cli. The native app is under development; this policy describes the features available today. We will update it before introducing features that change how personal information is handled.

Your settings stay with you

The website playground holds your theme choices, layout settings and typed style requests in browser memory while the page is open. We do not upload these settings or requests to a server. Reloading or closing the page discards this in-memory state.

Copy writes the information you choose to your clipboard. Download creates a local .rice file. The native preview processes configuration text on your Mac, and rice-cli reads or writes files at paths you explicitly provide. These configurations are not uploaded by Riceapple. Files you save remain until you delete them; your operating system or your own backup and sync services may keep copies.

Using an AI agent is your choice. Riceapple prepares instructions for you to copy; it does not send them to an AI service. If you paste them into another service, that service handles them under its own privacy policy. Avoid including sensitive information in requests you share.

Information used to serve this website

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes connection and request information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser information, approximate city and country derived from your IP address, requested URL and request time. This is used to deliver the website, maintain reliability and prevent abuse. This technical processing is separate from the settings you enter in the playground.

The current website does not use advertising trackers, session replay, analytics SDKs, or cookies and local storage to remember playground choices. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Support messages

If you email support@riceapple.app, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you send. We use them to respond, investigate the issue and maintain a record of your request. Please send only the information needed to help you, and remove secrets or unrelated personal information from screenshots and configuration files.

Accounts, purchases and permissions

The current preview does not require a Riceapple account and does not include an active in-app purchase flow. We do not receive payment-card details through the playground. Pricing shown on the website describes planned offerings, not a purchase made on this site. Before enabling subscriptions or a purchase-related SDK in the app, we will explain the resulting data handling here and update the App Store privacy disclosures.

The current preview does not monitor your desktop, read other apps’ content, or request Accessibility or Screen Recording permission. Its app windows and conversations are fictional previews. Future desktop-control features will need their own accurate permission explanations and privacy disclosures before release.

Service providers and disclosure

We use hosting and email providers to operate the website and answer support requests. They may process the information needed for those purposes. We require providers acting on our behalf to protect personal information consistently with this policy and applicable requirements, and to use it only to provide their services. We do not send your playground configuration to them.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or when necessary to protect the rights and security of people and the service. Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable, we use the safeguards required for those transfers.

External websites you choose to open, including Apple and AI services, have their own policies. You can read Vercel’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy for their practices.

Retention and deletion

Playground state lasts only for the open page. Delete downloaded or exported files on your device when you no longer need them, and manage any copies held by your backup or sync services. Copying different content replaces the current clipboard contents, although clipboard-history tools you use may retain earlier entries.

We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to address your request and related follow-up, or meet legal obligations. Hosting and security records are retained according to the provider’s applicable retention settings and obligations. We do not promise immediate removal from backups or records that must be retained by law; retained information is limited to the purpose that requires it.

To request access, correction or deletion of personal information we hold, email support@riceapple.app. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify that the request is yours. We will explain any information we cannot delete and the reason. We cannot remotely delete files saved on your device or data you separately sent to another service.

Your choices and rights

You can use the playground without creating an account or sending us a support message. You can stop sharing information with us by ceasing use of the website and contacting us about information already provided. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, and complain to your local privacy regulator. Contact us to exercise these rights. We will handle requests under the rules that apply to you.

Children and security

Riceapple is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we handle, including encrypted HTTPS delivery for the website. No system can guarantee absolute security. Keeping private configuration files on your device also depends on your device security and the services you choose to use.

Changes and contact

We will update the effective date when this policy changes. Material changes to data handling will be explained before they take effect, with consent requested when required.
